I know they may like teaching and culture.. But i got the feeling many of them have the intent in finding a japanese mate. And i see it happening all the time, ...is that one of the most important reasons why they want to go to japan

I guess some guys do. My sister and her husband are going to Japan next year to teach English. That was their first choice last year, but the company they work for requires more education for my sister, so she had to pick a different country. (Bro in law has two masters and is working on his doctorate; sis is a professional student and has oodles of college credits, but no degree). They ended up choosing Yemen. Now that my sister has a year of teaching under her belt, she qualifies to teach in Japan, so they're going in March, I believe. I doubt my brother in law is going so he can find a Japanese wife... :)
