Any ideas guys,, Is this a job better for a mechanic or can I do this one weekend im my drive way.

First, Make sure the system is evacuated or empty. Second you will need to release the spring locks on the hoses. You may be able to find the tools at the auto parts store. The hoses can be a little tight, so make sure you use the proper size spring tool and give the fitting a twist a you pull on it. Use a PAG oil to lubricate the new o-rings and push in until you hear a snap. Make sure it is secured otherwise you will have a nice mess on your hands when you go to charge it. Have the sytem put into a vacuum to remove any moisture from the system before you recharge it. Good luck

I suppose you are talking about the accumulator in your AC system. I guess I have never seen one go bad unless it started leaking because of an accident. If you can get at it then try it your self. It is good to evacuate the system though once you have had it open. If you can not then try to purge the system. Once you start to recharge your system there should be a label some where telling you have much freon to put in.
