there isnt really one (though the same stuff may come under a different name in india), if youre looking for a "natural" remedy, levothyroxine is chemically identical to the hormone your body produces; your body doesnt know the difference. its more natural to you than any herb.

the treatment for hypothyroidism is present in alternative system(ayurveda) in india...but it is sugested only by proper diagnosis .
levothyroxine too is given in 2 forms in the us;synthetic
;natural -extracted from cow
ayurvedic remedy depends on the symptoms you present,your nature of body constitution ect...
when you are mentioning about hypothyroidism-it includes various causes,symotoms ect
causes-auto imune;hashimotos disease,deficiency of iodine,surgery of thyroid inflamation of thyroid

symptoms include-fatigue,loss of memory ,dry skin,decreased libido,weight gain
totally there is sluggishness of body......so in ayurveda the aim is to reduce kapha vikrithi...
so, treatment would be on the following line
;NUTRITION;bypass food like-peanuts,cabbage
;low protein diet necessary
;some foods suggested-kelp a sea weed
exercise-stimulates thyroid
yoga-sarvangasana
herbal pemedy-kanchanara guggulu
-astragulas-a herb
-coleus forkohlii(barbatus benth)

go to a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist about the equivalent.
in mexico is called eutirox and some medicines are called the same in different countries. try that one too

ELTROXIN. It is the only thyroid supplement svsilsblr in India.

I have had to use it since 1980... to my knowledge there is no alternative.
