Seriously. No one can be perfact and thus all programms in world have errors. if you remember, one of the robots sent to Mars mission was lost due to such programming error.

Because most commercial programs are very large and require teams of engineers to create. While companies do quality assurance, it is not always possible to catch all bugs in this process, so the application will go out with errors.

It's for a class, so what do you think? Obviously they happen; you know that if you've ever touched a computer before. Why would no one have noticed a glitch before releasing a program?
