I was once shown a product that was like a powder that when rubbed on the carpet stain it turned somewhat damp.It came with a hand brush to agitate the stain and oh my God it worked like a miracle.Unfortunetaly the person who showed me this product told me it had been dicontinued,why??,I don't know it was a great product.Please help with something similar or a home remedy type.

There are two that are available for residential use. ChemDry and Resolve Dry Carpet cleaner and they both work equally well exactly as you described except you have to wait until the granuales dry before vacuuming. They used to be available at the home improvement stores, but recently I've only been able to locate them at the janitorial supply stores.

Yearsago there was a carpet cleaner system that used a dry chemical. I believe it was called " Racine". It had a special floor tool to use on large carpeted areas. I believe there was two brushes that spun around in it. This is over 30 years ago that I seen this but they may still be in business. HOpe this may help.

even the dollar store has one.
