How big/small is your turtle... Mine ate small fish. My turtle was still small and slow, so I had to injure the fish before tossing them in his tank. Also, try small bite size pieces of apples, and lettuce, or cantaloupe.
But, to be better safe than sorry, go to your local book store and purchase a book on turtles and how to care for them.
Good luck!

Just try different turtle foods and you'll probably eventually find something that he likes. You'd do well to remember that turtles aren't mammals and do not need to eat everyday. I have a friend who has had a turtle for many years and he usually only feeds him once a weak, sometimes twice, and the turtle is just fine and has gotten pretty big.

They sell turtle food in the pet stores, it comes in a container and is pelleted. Also, when we would find them in our yard and keep them for a few days, they will always eat dog food. Turtles are omnivores, so make sure you are giving it meat and veggies.

Keep giving it the same food and it will eat the food you got when it's hungry enough. I have two turtles and feed them floating food sticks you can buy in pet stores or even supermarkets now.

I had a turtle that refused to eat even meal worms...I think he was actually afraid. I had to offer him beef baby food for his protein. They also have supplemental powders if he proves a finicky eater. Also offer greens, dark and leafy....but try baby food. It's quite palatable...and I had to do it with my box turtle. It was suggested by the vet and worked like charm.

The turtle won't eat shrimp? Call a pet shop immediately and ask. You might want to try some pieces of fresh fish...? Call the pet shop right now and ask. That turtlle must be starving!

I always used to feed mine small bits of raw ground beef, grubs from the ground, and catch a few flies on sticky paper then pluck them off with tweezers and enclose them in the habitat with your turtle, fresh baby spinach and leafy veggies, good luck.

you can feed him veggies....lettuce.. make sure you clean it (NO SPINACH) i was reading that it has some type of chemical or something in it...(NO GROUND MEAT)too heavy....and if he doesn't eat it he is probably sick. and if not, leave the food in there and he will eat it when he gets hungry because if you just got him then he has to get used to the environment around him.
