I know you have to buy food but are there any other items that you have to buy on a regular basis?

You can trust me my user name is Leopard Gecko the starting cost for me was :Gecko $70.00 30 gallon tank: $30.00, Lid for tank :20.00$ and so on adding up to $350.00 the long term for me is the lighting sand and moss for the wet cave that helps with shedding which leaves me tucking away 50 dollars for when the time comes.

After the initial start up cost, they are fairly cheap. Food (insects AND vitamin/calcium supplements, and perhaps the occasional baby mouse) is the only regular thing you need to buy, other than that you have the occasional replacement bulb (if you use a heat lamp rather than an undertank heater), substrate replacement (whatever you use, sand, etc...). Tank/accesory upgrades if necessary, and perhaps vet bills.

To care for them is so easy and cheap crickets once or twice a week and you are good to go. the most expensive part of maintaining them is the purchase of the habitat.
