There are a lot of under lying issues here, one the American people were to be greiving those who lost their lives on 9/11 5 years ago and instead he tired to defend is stnad on Iraq which was totally insenstive to families of 9/11, two it is an election year and people are tired of the crapp and want a change and if the vote against the incumbents because they don't feel that they are doing or representing the people the way the people should be represented then they lose, three if they lose then the president doesn't have the clout that he currently carries with the congress and that could mean trouble ofr him, of course he can't run agin but he still has 2 years left and a congress not with him could be a tough road to hoe for Mr Bush and fourth Mr bush has not been truthful and has violated laws for his own gain and maybe and a new congress may see that and actually do something about it. I know I am ready for a change and I believe a lot of Americans are.

When does a politician give a public speech that isn't political?
Especially less than two months before mid-term election?

Of course it was political. But you're missing the big issues. A large percentage of Americans don't think Congress is doing their job, and the entire House of Representatives (and 1/3 of the Senate) come up for re-election in two months.

And Bush's presidency directly hangs on the result, because not only will a new Congress potentially make different choices about Iraq, immigration, military funding, etc -- but a new Congress may finally start doing their job an impeach Bush for all of the federal laws he has admitted violating. So Bush has a very personal vested interest in keeping the current Congress in power.

Of course it was political. Because in two months, the American people have the opportunity to vote for a new Congress. And that could have massive political repercussions on Bush's agenda.

On the anniversary or 9/11, I think it was most appropriate to say that America will continue to be strong in the war against terrorists. We owe it to those who lost their lives at the hands of those evil fiends.

The fact that he has to bring up Iraq in a speech dedicated to 9-11 shows how screwed up in the head he is. He probably doesn't think it's political, but he can't really admit that Iraq isn't a terrorist threat either.

It's election year. The party out of power is going to say everything the other guy says is political.

And even if the Republicans are paranoid doesn't mean UBL isn't out to kill us.

UBL struck three times during Clinton's time. Willy said he would bring 'those responsible' to justice. Did he?

Anything any politician does is political. I don't mean that in a sarcastic way either.
