when i talked about roller coasters at home or at school with friends, i was just showing off my words that roller coasters were stupid and they were nothing to go on..but when i saw the ones at the theme park, i nearly pissed in my trousers and i regretted i had slipped my tongue..anywayz i didn't even get onto one, and all my friends laughed at me..i was simply scared of my life..they just walked into the thing as though they were entering their bedroom..how's that possible and how can i get that confidence to get onto roller coasters and other dangerous rides like them?

Just remember that the danger is illusory. Those coasters are tested and inspected constantly. Consider how often they run and how often you hear about problems, let alone problems that killed customers. You are safer at an amusement park than you are on the freeway getting to it.

Fear of coasters is totally irrational. You are more likely to get hurt on your drive to the park than you are riding a coaster. And you don't fear getting in a car, do you? Coasters are fun, not something to be feared. It is incredibly rare that anyone gets hurt on a roller coaster. And more often than not the problem is with the rider doing something that they should not be doing. Thousands of people ride coaster rides every day and all that happens to them is they have a good time. Where is the danger? Climb in, buckle in, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Roller coasters are extremely safe. Most parks go through daily/weekly inspections.

when you get on, make sure that you are strapped in tightly. spend a few seconds before the ride starts to check by pulling on the staps or if it is a roller coaster in which you are harnessed in over the shoulders, keep pushing on the bar and make sure you feel safe. If not, call the ride attendent over to double check.

Once on, remember it will be over in less than a minute! Hold on tight, close your eyes, and scream you lungs out!! It is FUN!

Start small, build your way up. Have your friends coax you onto bigger and bigger coasters and just remember each time that they are INCREDIBLY safe. Trust the equipment, trust in yourself.
