Yeah, I agree with winsum.... If you ever saw Mia Hamm as a youngster playing soccer you would have known she was exceptionally talented even then. Talented way beyone her years. In fact, not common at all.
I refereed a match when she was playing in the Randolph league, and few other teammates got to handle the ball.
So, encourage your child no matter what her skill level.

As a parent our jobe is to help our kids find the "way THEY should go." Get 100% behind her in whatever she pursues and take joy in whatever results. She's a unique gift, perfectly designed for HER purpose. If she is to be like Mia Hamm, then so be it. If she is to be Momma Mia, so be it.

First, I hope that's not your expectation. I've seen too many children crushed when they find out that they can't live up to their parents' expectations. Second, if she is, you'll know it. Don't force her to do the sport any more than she wants anyhow. Again, I've seen some excellent athletes loose interest because they we single tracked into a sport and not allowed to try other things.
Just let soccer be for fun. Real ability will come out as she is having fun.

What?
If she finds soccer intresting and worth wild, then foster her intrest and allow her to develope into whoever she will be.
Are you saying that all soccer players are the samw, there is so much more to a person then a sport or intrest.
Justlet her become who she will, and if she's that good, you won't have tpo worry about college to gettign a job.
