alright i will spell it out to the people who do not understand i have bought a new power supply but computer will light up on main board but when i press on switch nothing i have tryed the on off switch any body any idias

Well, this sounds that the problem is elsewhere than your power supply. The power for that LED on the mainboard comes on a different route than the power that makes the mb work (the +5VSB). So, the +5VSB is a separate circuit that provides stand-by power. Other components of your PC might have been damaged if your previous PS failed: motherboard, ...
Check your Power supply on another PC and see if it works.

Your Power box may not have the power to power you computer.

I know this for a fact, relly when you have a lot of drives like burners and CD-Rom and 2 Hard Drives (etc.) it can keep it form powering!!

Answer: Get a power box with more power

Could be that the new PS is faulty -- had this happen recently.

Is the PS 24 pin (to support PCI Express) and the motherboard 20?

if you bought a new power supply was it because there was a fault with the last one ?? if yes it could be that the old power supply was ok its maybe the pc itself.
