Ebay is a great place to buy and sell I do all the time. It depends what your looking for?? I have bought and sold loads I have over 600 feedback it's been great for me!
Yes you get the odd idiot that messes things up as with anything in life.
If your new to ebay I would suggest just login on as a guest to start with and search things you like until you get the hang of it.
If you know what you want and how much it's worth never bid over that amount! don't get carried away bidding, set a max. price and stick to it.
Enjoy

Be care-full I bidded for a Beswick figure I won the bid, but I ask the seller why she was charging 10pounds for postage and she said because the postage charge has just gone up in price, so I will send you the balance in a postal order. I received the figure in good condition. I waited for that postal order but did not get it,She also said that she don't make any profits out of postal charges. So I e-mailed her again and I ask her for the re-maining postal charge, or if she wanted me to get in touch with EBay I will do. She got back to me and said I was very rood and threatening and if I gave her a bad feed back she would do the same to me, so and I am not going to get my money back. It costed her 1pound 27pence to send it. So be very care-full, after all you buy from EBay to get things as cheap a possible but it don't always work out that way. I will not be giving her a feed back because she aint worth it.

Ebay is great and quite addictive! I have been a member since 2000 and have not only bought loads of items but sold stuff after my daughters on it too! you can pick up some great bargains!
Most people are honest and genuine but you get the odd con artist so be careful ~ check the feedback and rating of the seller.

happy bidding!

Ebay is great but be careful, I had 5 parcels arrive today, tis addicting! check the sellers ratings and only buy things that have good descriptions if its second hand. I personally prefer the ebay shops, more professional usually but you pay a bit more.

You can use PayPal. Make a PayPal account and you can hook it up straight to your bank account. You can also buy a loadable VISA card from CVS. You basically buy it like a gift card and use it like a credit card, it's pretty cool. I'm too young for a debit card, so that's what I use. I suggest getting the unreloadable one. The reloadable card has a monthly fee, but also boosts your credit score because you can't go into debt. You only charge what you already put into it.

it can be a good place for buying stuff......especially if it's a hard-to-find or normally expensive item. A filmmaker friend of mine buys stuff to use in his films off there all the time. You just have to pay close attention to the description of the item & the feedback/ratings (complaints, good comments...etc.) of the seller.

I have always heard Ebay is not the place to shop, sometimes you pay for your merchandise, but never receive it, and you can't prove you didn't! I took a chance last week because I found exactly what I was looking for. Got it in 3 days!!! I think it really depends whom you deal with.

Just make sure you read the descriptions.

You can even contact the seller to ask questions before you make any bids.

As long as you stick to a budget and check the ratings of people (to make sure they're reliable) I think you'll be okay. My wife has bought loads of stuff, quite often from overseas.
