he doesnt know where he was!... besides calling the south side towing service and apd. and yelling at him for being stupid & it's better he lost the truck than someones life... how do you find a lost vehicle in austin texas?

i agree with everyones responses so far... yes I laughed too. yes I believe he should not drive, yes he may have hit someone BUT he says he blacked out. It is unfortunate that their are people out there that are this stupid and irresponsible.

call the impound lots and towing companies. be sure to have the license plate and VIN ready as well as make and model. towing for the city works on a rotation...find out the schedule for the time and day the truck was misparked. i am sure it's probably on a lot.

That guy from the towing company was an idiot! Your mom’s bf did the right thing by leaving his truck behind when he realized that he was too drunk to drive. It's obvious that he wasn't drunk when he drove there. The problem happened once he got drunk at that place.
Well, he needs to try to remember what bar(s) he visited and try to look around there. If he doesn't remember and there are some bars that he visits on a regular basis, then those are good places to start your search.
If he is someone that likes to drink too much and this is likely to happen again, then he ,may want to invest a little bit of money of a satellite tracking device for his car. He can go on line and see exactly when his can is at at any given time.
The other choice is to go to the car and report the car lost. he needs to make sure that he tells them that he DID NOT drive the car. For obvious reasons. Good luck!

A) He's probably better off not driving.
B) He might of already hit somebody.
C) If the Austin police don't have it, it is in Mexico.
D) When he stops drinking for 1 year, buy him a new truck.

maybe its better his truck is lost for a while--don't know how old you are but regardless--this is not your stuff to worry about or try to fix. Hope you get out of the situation somehow sooner than later.

#1: Who over the age of 25 hasn't learned not to get that drunk without someone sober wth them.
#2 Duh why did he have a truck while that drunk.
#3 I would start with his normal bars...ask the bartenders if he took a cab from there..check the parking lots.
#4 Is it possible...maybe he hit someone or something and left it cause he didn't want to get caught?
