My husband is filipino and he's still a citizen of the Philippines. We have one daughter together and she's also an American citizen. Can both my daughter and I get duel citizenship for the Philippines?

Under citizenship retention and reaquisition bill of 2003 (republic act no. 9225) dual citizenship is now recognized by the Philippine government. The requirements are that you must be a natural born filipino, or a decendant of one. Your child is eligible, you are if you are a natural born filipino or a decendant of one. The only way you can get philippine citizenship if not would be to denounce your US citizenship, not a good idea.
Run a google search "philippine republic act 9225".

I have dual citizenship (but for another country). while your kids are below 18 (you have to inquire if the age is right), they can have both passports with no problem. But once they turn eighteen they have to choose.. that's my experience.

Philippines recognizes dual citizenship, but I don't know if America does.

I am told that you can get both passports and when you go to America you show your american passport, when you get back to the Philippines, show the Philippines passport.

Since I have a different dual citizenship... I always showed both passports when I entered or left the US.. no problem whatsoever :)

hope this helped

I dont think you can have duel citizenship from any country.

However your daugther will be RECOGNIZED as filipino, and a bit of paper work will be involved but she will get that.

As a wife of a filipino, you can apply for permanent residency as an immigrant.

Philippines will accept your husband DUAL citizenship and you can apply for yours, however you must check first if US will recognize that.

Welcome back.... this its paradise.... but keep it quite... its asia's best kept secret.

if you are a natural born filipino, you can get a dual citizenship but you need to take an oath of allegiance to the philippine gov't again after you acquire american citizenship.
