I'm looking for a motor that will fit because my transmission went out and I don't feel like paying $1200 if I can get a different motor that will fit!!!

The easiest high performance engine to swap in would be the turbocharged 2.4 found in the PT Cruiser Turbo and SRT-4. Bolts in place with stock SRT-4 hardware.

You are probably going to have to get the same engine as stock, because you will probably be paying way more than that to put a different one in i.e. a SRT4 engine, just an example. Doing a swap will require a change in ecu and possibly the harness but if you are doing the work I guess it might be cheaper.
As for fitment, you can put any engine you want as long as you have the cash. Sorry to dissapoint.
