Probably not. Maybe the spanking was way over due. Even you say your child is spoiled. I remember dancing and celebrating when my very spoiled step brother got his first spanking at age 7 (I was 10 years older). Of course, I got in trouble also (but it was so worth it.) And as I've gotten older, I've sat back wondering when some of my friends were ever going to do something about the poor behavior of their children.
Since you are planning on getting married, you should have an open discussion on what is appropriate behavior for a child and what are acceptable punishments, to make sure you are both on the same page. And don't go into the discussion w/ the idea that he's picking on your daughter. I don't think he should be the one punishing your daughter either. You should have a better idea of what's going on in his head after this.

Spanking children is a time of seriousness and really being pissed for what they did wrong. I would never grin or giggle. I am not sure what pleasure comes from disaplining your children but giving me a spanking would be different! No serious, this is a new one with me.

He obviously doesn't think you discipline your kid enough. Nothing worse than being around a spoiled child and when its not even his. Maybe you need to do some more of it.

honey I'm with you wtf was that smiling sh!t and for him to think that spanking a child is doing your job , i think you need to rethink your bf and see what's really good with him and if your daughter is spoiled so what, if he is the father i would pay close attention and if he's just your bf then you really need to rethink dating someone like that. he might be abusive himself . sense he thinks you finally did your job as a mother by spanking your daughter. if that's the only way he thinks of parenting you should really be careful and good luck with the jerk

he is what you said he is you do no t need a loser like him in your or your child's life. dump him and find a guy who will be compassionate to you and your child . This one sounds sadistic and you are thinking about marrying him ? Dont be an idiot . Dump him and move on to much better things .

get rid of him now! he is jealous of your child, the relationship you have, he will ALWAYS try to come between you two, & you'll find yourself choosing your man over your child, just to stop making waves, it'll be easier to choose what he wants then whats right. I've had a blended family, my 2 & his 4, the kids were always treated differently, his kids got away with stuff, but when my kids did the same or less, he was quick to jump on them. my kids started resenting me for apeasing him, not standing up for them, I just tried to keep my kids out of trouble so he wouldn't be mad at me. now the kids are grown, moved out, but he still lets his kids have more. trust me on this, it will get worse!!! no man is worth it

in some circumstances adult men smile and/or grin while they're no longer able to handle a subject. possibly he uncomfortable with the region, and the only way he comprehend a thank you to handle it to grin. attempt to place your self in his shoes. What do you do in case you notice your perfect buddy disciplining his/her newborn? without offending your buddy.

Its not what we think- its how it makes you react. I get the feeling that you will not keep this guy in your future.
