I always wondered why my friend Kowalski never needed glasses - he was cheating! Is that why so many Chinese people need them - It's all Polish to them ??

I don't know but I am guessing that the optician might be Polish and wants to show his name on the signs. Around here they have names on opticians like Lenscrafters so I have no direct experience with that use of Polish names. Perhaps you are looking at signs while in Poland.

What's wrong with Polish names? They're no more confusing or harder to pronounce than many other ethnic names out there (Japanese, Italian, etc.).
