the truth might hurt some but heres a little more truth most of the welfare cases in our county are women and children the women either have little or no education or have a house full of little children and being on welfare is the only way they can survive if more people that had kids would take the responsible action and help support those children the welfare system wouldnt be as needed as it is.also the welfare system helps the older folks make it from month to month saying all people on welfare is lazy isnt right and just to let you know a family of 5 receives a little more then 400.00 a month to live on so its not like they are living well or even above the poverty level.no i am not on welfare but we need to rethink how easy they have it i agree working would give them more money to live on and for some its just a matter of not having a car to get to work or a phone to even put apps in to go to work there are alot of people that would like to be able to support their children in a better manner sometimes they just need a little help along the way

When a working person becomes disabled, they collect disability, not welfare. And disability is something that the working person has paid into. I also have a retarded nephew, and guess what? He has a job. It doesn't pay a lot, but he does work.

As for getting rid of welfare and forcing lazy people to work - that will never happen because there will always be liberals who think that the working people should support the lazy.

There will always be those who can’t or won’t work, we need to take care of those who can’t. There are also a percentage of people who are simply unemployable for one reason or another, they’re just odd or perhaps slightly retarded, who knows. This is why when the unemployment rate gets to around 4 or 5% that is actually the same a 0%. Think about it, put 100 people in a room, what percentage would you not hire?

The welfare sytem isn't only utilized by lazy people sweetie. Now there may be lazy people taking advantage of it, but that is why their are certain guidelines they must meet. i personally am unable to utilize it at the moment due to income, but if anything happens to where I needed assistance I want to know that there is a program that will assist me. Apparently you are not familiar with the program, or you are just being sarcastic about the topic at hand. I don't know if you are loaded with cash and are "good" financially, but until you have been in a position to need assistance, don't speak unless spoken to.

Probably as soon as all the deadbeat dads pay their child support and stop abandoning their families and responsibilities.

Tell me ... what type of a job do you suggest for all the newborns and young children who are benefiting from welfare?

YES The truth does hurt. but someday when your child is crippled he has a choice to die of hunger or live you would wish if only a rich country's society has any social obligation. Remember it's easy to throw stones on poor and disabled if you are on the other side but every dog has his day.

Wouldn't it be a dreadful shame if you were in a car crash, became crippled and was unable to work? It'd be 'welfare' all the way for you then.

You should accept that people are different and just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean it's not right.

The truth hurts.
