I've tried, can you please clean the bathroom because I like the way you do it and I looked in there and saw him wiping the sink off with a square of toilete tissue...I almost went crazy. Are there books or something to get people motivated to clean? I had these how to books when I was growing up about ettiquete and hygiene.

So I guess we need to sit down once/mo. and make a plan of action...what bills need to be paid, a grocery list, list of chores and assign duties...this is like back in the day when I lived at home with my parents...argh!

Break out the chores into a list. Show the time commitment required to do these tasks...show the end of the day with your partner getting something he wants, but darn it, there are all these choires...he'll help out then.
