If your a grown woman would you still collect barbie dolls and porcelain dolls? This is just a question to ask and it's a hobbie I have been doing since I was a child.

Of course grown women collect dolls and some grown men do too! I collect many types of dolls, including some Barbies and some porcelain. There will always be people around who will tell you it's weird, but I don't let them bother me because I know they don't know what they're talking about!

I am not a woman but I can tell you that yes they do. My mom collects dolls, Porcelain , Barbie. and yes is a huge hobbie for her. She also makes clothes for them and display's them. Last I heard she had over 2000 dolls.

Thats a lot of dolls. When I see a pretty doll at the store I buy for her. So I am not helping onher addiction but as long as she is happy. Is a healthy hobbie.

I am 30 and I still collect porcelain dolls and barbie dolls. I don't see any harm in it. If you like collecting them, thats all that matters. Don't worry about what other people will think about it. Just be yourself, you'll be happier that way..

Absolutely. I have been collecting porcelain dolls for the past ten years. I presently own over 300 of them -- all displayed. They are everywhere in my house, plus I have two rooms with nothing in them except dolls. I started my collection when my mom passed away. She had three or four dolls, and really loved them. I took her dolls and started adding to the collection. Each one I acquired, I imagined I was buying them for her. Before I knew it, I became hooked myself.

My sister-in-law and I were competing to see who could buy or receive as gifts, the most beautiful and most expensive dolls. I think I exceeded her collection by the number I had, whereas hers were a little more pricey, but she didn't have as many. My biggest doll stands nearly five-feet tall, and my smallest is only two inches. They all have names, but I have so many of them now, I've forgotten a lot of their names, so I try to write them down when I get a new one. I am running out of space, so I don't buy as many now, and I'm getting more discriminating. I've also kept the boxes they come in, in case we ever move. I'm running out of space in the basement and garage where I store the boxes.

And to answer your specific question, many, many women collect dolls -- even some men, believe it or not. So collect away, my friend. It is a very enjoyable hobby, and if you ever sell your dolls on the secondary market, they will bring a lot of money, since a lot of them are limited editions. I'm not planning to sell any of mine -- they will go to my two daughters and granddaughter when I'm gone.
