It has, it enables children to study at home on their desks, its a new source, instead of books.
All schools should have computers with internet, to let children research, the internet is an easy and fast way to research almost anything.
For example, when researching about someone, you can just go on to www.wikipedia.org , a website, which has a lot of information.
The internet is a great way of discovering, communicating and creating.

The internet will damage the educational environment. This Ansdwers group is a clear indication. You are not going to books, you are going to people who probably don't know as much as you do. Some of the libraries are dropping their reference sections and suggesting the internet to get answers, but that is not a good thing. Most opinions on the internet are not fully researched or footnoted, and I would not trust them.
Books are the answer, not floating your questions in a venue like this.

The emerging technologies in the education system with internet access has it's pro's and con's. Students will be offered an endless amount of information that includes the very latest in research. However, sadly the internet will cause the death of the book and written knowledge learning will exist in a virtual 'reality'.

It already has! It allows us much faster access to a wider variety of sources of information, as well as has the potential to eliminate the conventional classroom, as already demonstrated in many online Colleges and a handfull of High Schools in the country.
In short, we can wave goodbye to conventional libraries, as well as say adios to the days of sitting in a classroom, in front of a blackboard.
