Don't kill them... They have as much of a right to be there as you do. If you have a snake on your property, chances are it's nonvenomous. Snakes are very useful animals and can help control the local rodent population. Would you rather have a couple snakes or a few dozen mice? IF it is venomous, the worst possible thing to do is try to kill it. A vast majority of snake bites come from people deliberately trying to interact with them (either to kill them or because they're trying to be "macho"). They just want to be left alone. If you seriously want to get rid of snakes, then call someone to safely remove and relocate them, or try to get rid of anything that might attract rats or mice. If the food leaves, the snakes will follow.

Amen, Meaningless! There is no reason to ever kill any snake. If it is causing a problem or is just too close for comfort, call an animal control or nuisance wildlife officer to have them remove it to a safe place. 99% of the time, the snake will not bother you at all, and will actually do you some good by keeping away any unwanted critters, such as mice, rats and even sometimes other snakes.

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOMEONE DID THAT STUFF TO YOU!? SHAME ON YOU AND EVERYONE WHO TOLD YOU DIFFERENT WAYS TO KILL A SNAKE!!!SHAME ON ALL!!! SNAKES ARE NOT EVIL AND WON'T HURT YOU IF YOU RESPECT THEM AND GIVE THEM SPACE! PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE EVIL IN MY OPINION! YOU SHOULD BACK OFF AND ADMIRE THEIR BEAUTY OR JUST WALK AWAY! I am a 13 yr old girl with 5 pythons and I hear tons of people every day "eeewwww! why do you like those? they are gross and will bite you!" I call them retards and walk away! Get a book on snakes, do a little research and you'll find that snakes are quite peaceful when left alone.

dont ever kill a snake there here for a reason if its in your house it got there by mistake and will find its way back outside or you evedintly have its food in your house (mice or rats) get rid of them and the snake will leave on its own or bag it in a pillowcase and release it in a wooded area. if its outside leave it it will not bother you it knows you are not food and will not hunt you down and attack you unless you live in asia's forests and are being stalked by a retic.

whats with all this B.S. about people wanting to kill venomous snakes? if show it respect and admire it from a distance it wont bother you.. call animal control and have it removed and relocated. if youre one of those types of people wo have to distroy everything tehy touch i hope you get tagged. i love seeing assholes like you take a trip to the E.R.

Grab it by the tail and crack it like a whip we used to do that as kids and had cigar boxes full of snake skins or just cut its head off with a shovel killed a copper head few days ago with a flip flop smack um hard enuff they die.

If it is not poisonous, dont kill it...take it to an open field and release it. If it is poisonous, put the container its in in the hot sun and it will overheat and die or you can do the humane thing and chop its head off with a shovel.
