Sidney Crosby is supposed to be the next Wayne Gretzky
Evgeni Malkin is supposed to be the next Lemiuex.

What are your thoughts on this?

Crosby is good but what made Wayne was more than that. He had not only the skills and the mind set to be "the great one". That kind of person does not come along that often and why I think Crosby has great skills he is to young to tell if he can carry that mantle.
Malkin will play similar to Lemiuex but I do not see him playing tough every game like Mario. Mario played every shift like it was the last one of the year. Never gave up and dragged his team along with him and made them play better. That's something else I do not see from either of these guys yet. Again they are young and could become the leaders but not yet.
I think people are always looking for the next one and looking at someones skill level makes them compare them to other greats of the past, but only time can tell for sure if they have what it takes.

Sidney Crosby will be Sidney Crosby
Evgeni Malkin will be Evgeni Malkin
Alexender Ovechkin will be Alexander Ovechkin

nobody will ever be Wayne Gretzky, be a Gordie Howe be a Bobby Orr, a Maurice Richard or even a Mario Lemieux. players make them self's.

Malkin is an unknown quantity in the NHL, so I can't answer that part of the question yet. He has the size, but I'd like to see him first.

Crosby is good, but NO ONE is the next Gretzky. I will say this though. If Crosby cuts his penalty minutes from last year just in half, he'll lead the league in scoring this year. He made a lot of rookie mistakes penalty-wise last year. He became my best fantasy player because of that, but I'd rather have the G, A and +/-.

I wonder where ovechkin is?

In penguin's terms - i'd say sidney is lemieux and malkin is jagr.
jagr scores and lemieux is a playmaker

In NHL's terms - where's ovechkin? in my opinion ovechkin is better than sidney - but in terms of malkin - i saw him play at junior world and it seems sid the kid is better...

that's what they say, but i believe they're wrong. i personally believe it was all a marketing scheme to get people interested in the post-lockout NHL by bringing up household names like gretzky and lemeiux
