ights are a type of leg coverings fabric extending from the waist to feet.

Athletic tights are considered unisex. In fashion they are today worn primarily by women and girls, as well as infants and toddlers of both sexes. In recent years they are also sometimes offered as men's fashion and tights might evolve inte a unisex-garment.

In American English, the difference between pantyhose and tights in women's fashion is determined in the weight of the yarn used and the thickness to which the garment is knitted. Generally, anything up to 40 denier would be known as pantyhose and anything over can be classified as tights. In the United Kingdom the word "tights" is always used.

There are many sub-classifications of women's tights/pantyhose that describe the precise construction (eg. control top, seamless, support). Although most tights are mainly nylon or cotton, lycra is normally included in modern blends.

In women's fashion, unfooted tights are usually called leggings. Athletic tights are however often unfooted.

Let's see my pantyhose are suntan in color, reinforced toe and sheer. My tights are black and very comfortable, both are made by the Silkies company. I love to wear them everyday to work and even when I get home I'll leave them on for a little while. But I always wear panties with my pantyhose even though my pantyhose and tights have a cotton crotch.

Why is the fabric content important when purchasing hosiery?
Fabric content determines the sheerness, durability, and weight of the particular item. So it’s important to be familiar with the fabric content, what it means, and to make sure that it’s going to fit your needs.
What is support, or compression hosiery?
Support, or compression, hosiery are actually two terms which refer to the same type of product. This type of hosiery is knitted from a combination of nylon and Spandex yarns that help to reduce leg fatigue. These are also among the most durable hosiery. They are usually slightly heavier than Lycra™ or Silky sheers, but today's sheer support hosiery is also fashionable and available in a wide array of colors and patterns.
What is the difference between tights and opaques?
The major difference between tights and opaques is the weight of the garment. Tights are typically heavier and less sheer than opaques. Tights' construction is commonly cotton, wool, or nylon/Spandex. Opaques are usually nylon/Spandex or microfibers. Both offer complete color coverage and options like matte, shiny, or silky, which refer to the look and feel of the garment.
How do I choose the correct size?
Choosing the correct size is the most important step in making your pantyhose last. It benefits you twice; not only will the pantyhose be more comfortable, but they'll last longer with less stress on the garment.

• First, be honest with yourself about your weight;
• Second, always check the size chart as size information varies from brand to brand;
• Lastly always select the larger size if you fall in a borderline area of the size range. No-one needs to know (and we won’t tell!)

I usually wear black, off-black or nude pantyhose. For work, they are usually L'eggs because they don't run as much. For evening wear, Givenchy or Calvin Klein make for a good sheer look. Sometimes I wear fishnets (nude or black) with pantyhose underneath to smooth out my legs.

If it's really cold, I'll wear them under my jeans or wear tights.

If I'm feeling playful or on a hot date, thigh highs are the way to go!

If the weather is too hot, I do not dare wear pantyhose.

They are a fuchsia pink pair that look like spider webs...an original take on fishnets. I will not be logging on to tell you about my tights tomorrow so I will tell you about them in advance. I am planning on wearing turquoise footless tights with a denim skirt...but who knows, you need to go with the mood of the day when picking tights...
