If possible use your debit or credit card, the exchange rate is much better, cash is dead money so a lower rate.
Most ATM's are P5,000 a transaction withdrawal, but you can make multiple withdrawals in a day. Some ATM's it's only P4,000 a transaction.
Over the counter you can get money, but minimum P20,000 and maximum P200,000 in one day, and before 2:00pm. You need to fill in a form, you need a photocopy of the picture information page of your passport, which they keep for every transaction. Take your passport and another means of ID like a driving licence.
Places like SM (a big shopping mall) have ATM's.

in the philippines it's better to bring dollars since Euro is not too popular here and you might not get a good exchange rate.

but since everytime you loose money when changing it from one currency to another.. I suggest that you bring your Euros and change them to Pesos. Keep cash on hand because Credit cards are not as popular as in other countries.

My sister lives in Ireland and whenever she goes back to the Philippines, she don't chage her money from euro to dollar. She changes euro to peso. It'll come out the same, just look for a good moneychanger with a good exchange rate.

actually your best bet is to use a visa card. visa as a corporation can move large amounts of currency so they get a better exchange rate than you ever could. but if you watch the currency markets and see how the dollar the euro and the peso move against eachother you can tell which is better to use

when you change money into another currency you will be losing a few amount of it from the exhange rate because any money changer would like to gain profit from changing money (its the nature of their business). they buy it at a lower rate and sell it at a higher price.

So to cut your loses it would be wise to change your money directly from Euro to Philippine Peso. and change only the amount you will be needing because if you change your peso to Euro, you will be buying Euros at a higher rate.

Don't worry about it, you'll lose more in europe changing the currency to dollars. pound euro and dollar are all sort of pegged together. best thing of all is to use your atm card to get cash in the big towns, make sure you have enough if you go to outlying islands/provinces as atms are difficult to find in small towns

it just happens that there are more money changers there and they are giving dollars a bit higher exchange rate but still euro is bigger than us dollar. the dollar is quite flexible to use there. Ei, when you change your money there, be sure to change it in the banks. Some money changers has higher exchange rate than the banks but its quite risky. going on a vacation? check this places...
