I would tell her ( or help her ) go ahead and shave it the rest of the way off. Use a good shaving cream and razor. After she's done, rub a little bit of baby oil into the skin to help soften it and help with the itch. She may decide she likes this look and feel better and will stay shaved or she may let it grow in. If she lets it grow in, there will be a little bit of itching when it starts to grow, but only for a few days. As for Rick Z's comment about women who give birth in hospitals having their pubic hair trimmed or shaved, that is NOT correct! Maybe when his Mom gave birth to him....but, not in this day and age!! Tell your gf good luck!!

OUCH! The itching won't go away until it grows out. It is like a man growing a beard and shaving it off. They say it itches too If she keeps shaving like that it will irritate her skin more but eventually if she keeps it shaved the skin will stop itching. Just use soap and shave as a man shaves his face (in the same direction). After the itching it will be painful for awhile.Good luck.

Well I do shave mine. Yes it is bare.....no hair at all. All I use is a razor. It works fine for me. Been doing it for years though. I like it that way and so does my husband. It would probably help if she just went ahead and shaved all of it with a razor or had it waxed......but if she is embarassed to ask friends then she would probably be embarassed to go have it waxed. It will get a little itchy when growing back unless she decides to keep it shaved. It is something you have to keep up......because no one likes itchy stubble. Tell her to either wait it out or shave it smooth.

i would suggest she just shave it off entirely, but to be very careful since the hair is short. don't use too much shaving cream so she can see what she's doing
either shaving or leaving the hair alone is going to cause itching for a little bit
or she could go get waxed but that's best for when the hair is longer and plus, waxing is really painful and can cause redness and irritation

I shave, and it doesn't make me itch. I itched when there was hair there....drove me nuts. Tell her to go all the way,or just let it try to grow back. The itching will go away in a couple days.
Good luck!!!!

From experince.. have her wax it, or leave it.
I tried waxing once, and it hurt like a biatch.. so, the few times that I've gotten carried away, I deal with the itch by using some Feminine Soothing Lotion or KY Jelly.. it helps the itch (seriously).. and then once it grows in a little more, there won't be any more itch..
So, wax it, or leave it.

Tell her to use some good shave gel, made for sensitive skin, make sure the razor is sharp and just do it! The more she shaves, the less it will itch and she will get used to it pretty fast.

Women who give birth in hospitals are shaved there also. They are itchy for a week or so and then it is not a problem. She can chill out and ignore it - the hair comes back soft again.

Tell her to shave it off, get a hair removal cream or you shave it for her...Or let it grow back...
The only other alternative is to get a DIY wax kit or have it waxed in a salon..
