I wear a size 7 ring and I think that my boyfriend thinks that I wear a 7 1/2. If he gets this 7 1/2 ring for me, can I take it to the jewlers to be brought down to a 7? If so, is this expensive and how long does it take the jewlers to do this?

Yes you can get it downsized .. as to the price it depends on the jewelry store. Some will do it @ no cost if it was purchased there. Same thing with how long, if its done @ the store or will it have to be sent off. For the last two questions .. you will really need to inquire @ the store basically

I just had my rings sized down 1 1/2 sizes. Also had it cleaned and repronged for $100.. (40 year old ring) Not sure of the cost of just the resize.. But check around at a few places. Some style rings are harder to work with then others..

Yes it can be modified. Takes about 7 days. There is usually a $100.00 charge to size a ring. Some cannot be sized up or down due to the design. You really need to go to the jewelers and have the professionals fit/size it for you. Have fun!

Yes, I've had this done before. They can increase or decrease the size. Depending on the jeweller, you can get it done for $25-$75, so shop around a bit. You usually have to leave the ring there and you can go pick it up in a day or two.

Yes you can. If you go to a pawnshop it is cheaper. To go down 1/2 a size it would be fairly cheap. Depending on where he buys the ring and your comfort level with asking you can take it back for sizing usually free of charge.

You can take it back to the jewelers where it was bought and they will size it for you. Usually there is no charge and it takes 1-2 days depending on how busy they are. If you take it somewhere else there may be a small charge (Less than 25.00)

you can go where he baught and see if they have one the same but in a size 7, if not they can make it smaller and can take from 24hrs to 3 weeks, as well in the cost some places do it for free, some have a charge but any jewlery place if you call first they will tell you if they charge or not.

If you take it to the same jeweler, they will probably do it for free... At least this is what they have done whenever I bought rings in the past. Usually it takes about a week.
