In our area there is a traffic problem. the problem is moder cars are very fast, specially when they are in the hands of youngsters. the solution for this is, before giving this cars to those peaple I assume to limit the speed of the car.so that they may not run out of controll.

It is possible but would pointless! Someone would come up with a work around in no time at all. Best thing to do is educate the young one on the dangers of driving fast. You could even get him/her involved with legal racing at your local race track.

Yes, pretty much all cars all limited with a chip. Mostly due to the rating of the tires the vehicle came equipped with. Obviously the manufacturer wouldn't want you going 150 in a vehicle who's tires are speed rated for 120. This can be altered by inserting performance chips which will alter fuel and air flow mixtures. Talk to a certified techh before atempting!

Yes, even Formula One cars have what is called a "Rev Limiter" that is all done in the engine electronics. Putting this to work would only be a matter of the car companies making it possible for the programming of the engine to be customized by the factory service at the dealership.

Yes - it's called a speed inhibitor, no idea how it works but it does.

It's fitted as standard to heavy vehicles in the UK (limited to 60 mph).
