That's like saying when am told old to watch a movie? Video games today are just another form of story telling entertainment. There are so many different types of games that they will appeal to pretty much anybody and to any age group.
I started playing when I was in high school (8-bit systems). I now have an elementary school aged daughter and I still play. Even my wife plays agianst me once in a while. Of course, I don't play as much as I used to when I was a kid but I still get a whole lot of entertainment from it. I may stop when my kid can beat me at Madden. So relax and keep playing!

Depends on how active of a life you wanna lead. If you don't want to be stressed out about things and want to go with the flow, you can play games all your life. But if you engage in activities which require your time and energy to fulfill certain responsibilities, then you gotta do what you gotta do.
I stopped playing games intensely and ardently about 9 months ago. I realized I wouldn't need them for a release once I got to college and that I wouldn't have the time for them anyway once I had a substantial workload.
For the average individual, I'd say we can all indulge once in a while in a webgame or that occasional 2-3 hour splurge of our favorite childhood link (or social gathering), but video games are like desserts: you should enjoy them so you're up with the times and so you can relax, but too much never has a good result.
My father would tell me from when I was 12 how I was such a punk for "playing that video $hlt." Although I'd like to say he was jealous of how much time I dedicated to them and how he had gotten much less attention than the games did, I can honestly say I knew then and now he was doing what he thought was the best for me.
Dad took it a little to far, but he got the real message into my head none-the-less: if you wanna go far, you gotta get focused. I know plenty of kids and adults that could have fulfilled more of their aspirations if they hadn't overdone it and fried their brains, and I'm glad I hadn't reached the tipping point of complete self-destruction.
Besides, why play video games when you can do what's in them in real life? I'd rather become a real-life famous individual that manages people, resources, land, and power than engaging in an intense empire-builder anyday. Or with regards to platforms, I'd rather build my own lifestory than follow somebody else's (whether it's fictional or not)!

No way man! I'm 22 and still love computer games. You gotta have a social life to go with it, mind, it can be unhealthy if it takes up too much time.
But there are loads of awesome games out aimed at guys our age. Resident Evil games, the GTA games... loads. Enjoy it!
