It is my birthday today and people I know were shocked when they found out that I was not gonna do anything to celebrate.

Me, i do, i do!
Bet you were really hoping for everyone on here to turn around and say: ''nah birthdays aren't overrated, you should be happy....blah blah blah!'' And then everyone starts saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you to cheer you up, but really, that's what you were going for in the first place, it's like a bit of reverse psychology you're using isn't it! Well let me tell you it ain't gonna work this time pal !!! mwahahahahaha!

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! :-D

I'm 50 at Christmas and I'm the only one not bothered about doing any partying or celebrating either, I celebrated my 40th birthday big time, went on a holiday of a lifetime earlier this year with my husband as a joint 50th birthday present to us both and as far as I am concerned I have done what I want to do for my birthday already and it is not going to be with people who I can neither stand of want to be around, it my birthday and I choose to do what I want to do this year and not anyone else.

By the way hope you have had a good day doing what you want.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you,
happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you.
May your hopes, dreams and wishes be the surprises on your birthday today.

I'm not sure how old you are...but it gets more and more that way as you get older. Some people really do make too much out of it. It is someones birthday every single day...so if you make everyday crazy.....when will you have time for the normal things in life. Just ignore them.

I do. I try not to celebrate meaningless milestones. So what, the Earth made it around the Sun another time and I didn't die in the process...big deal!

That having been said, happy birthday. LOL

They are wayyyy too overrated. I never tell anyone about my birthday. Its just another day in which you are one year older. If anything, you should be depressed as you are now one year older. That is how I look at it.
Happy Birthday anways.

They are overrated. So many people expect a big fiasco and gifts. I guess to me it really is another day. It is great to go all out for kids, but as adults whoop tee doo.

They're only overrated when people you love forget them and you don't get any pressies....otherwise they're bloody amazing! They are a celebration of your life...a celebration of another year you've managed to stay alive on this crazy planet of ours.... now tell me who wouldn't want to celebrate that?

Not doing anything is actually a good way to celebrate.
