2. The old lady is pissed at me and I need a place to sleep
3. I need a place to play with my stuff
4. In case of tornadoes, I want a comfy place to hide.

1. You need more living area. I think that covers several of the reasons.
2. To make a Mother in Law quarters.
3. To make office space for a home office.
4. To Make a playroom for young children.
5. To make a quest suite for company.
6. To make a play room for a husband.
7. For storage so you can clean up the garage.
