I keep getting advertisements and they sound all fine and dandy but what's the catch? Are there any that are legit; good ones?

Love em (the legit ones, anyhow)! I make $10-20 a month taking surveys, and as a stay at home mom on a budget, that's nice to have--especially since it doesn't take me long.
I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following site:

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc.
There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.
Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Watch out for sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties.

There are some out there that do pay. You just have to check them out. I do Survey Spot and average about $100 a month. Depends on whether you meet their requirements on some of them to earn the money. Most are just fun. The only thing is if you sign up with one you will be bombarded with junk email from a hundred more. That's a draw back. But the money is great if you find the right one.

Yes there are legitimate free to join surveys sites, personally I belong to the "top five" and I just spend about an hour a night doing surveys. I have been making an extra income doing surveys for over 6 months now, best thing is I get paid good money monthly
Also from my research, I found that most "sites" that you have to pay to join offer you outdated information or worst yet, they take your money and a few months later they "close shop" and start another website doing the same scam

I have been doing it for about 2 years now and haven't made much money. You can look in to them.....some company's that I belong to are Synovate, Survey Spot, Homespan and Lightspeed. Good Luck

Nothing wrong with them, no catch. The companies are interested in people's opinions and the surveys are no problem if you have the time.

Best, legal and safe way to earn on internet is by joining paid survey sites. Paid survey sites pay you for your opinion on various topics.
Don’t pay for any survey program to join. There are many free to join paid survey like survey savvy they pay more then 5 $ per survey. Always check for on which site you are registering is BBB (Better Business Bureaus) certified.
