We are having a 60's theme party for our parents.....any suggestions on party decorations or food? We have some things...lava lamps, smiley face stuff, retro print fabric....any other ideas? Hopefully some that are cost effective?? What about food? What candy was popular then? Drinks? Main dinners?

Smiley faces didn't really get used until the early '70's. Tie dye was very big, The candy that was popular is still around today: Baby Ruth, M&Ms, Snickers, Butterfinger. Pizza, burgers, etc., were popular then, too. It may seem like a million years ago, but some things never go out of favor. If you have anything with peace signs, that would be good to use, too. I'm sure you've got music planned, but some suggestions are Motown (the Spinners, Four Tops, Temptations, etc.), Hendrix, Joplin, the Doors, Creedence Clearwater, Beatles....We had a LOT of good music back in the '60's (hey...it's still played today)

Enjoy the party. I know your parents will! Here's a link that may give you some ideas, too...
