Shouldn't it be the first born who gets named after her parents?

It is kinda wired isn't it. Maybe they thought of the name Britney spears cos she looked like a Britney. And then they where wondering what to call there second daughter so they decided to call her after there own names. This is just a guess, but I hope it helped.

not always. dh's first is named after someone else. dh's second has the 'family' name.
first is named after a deceased family member...
(these are my 2nd and 3rd - kind of hard to explain)
