Is it possible to find people to chat with on yahoo who are just looking for friends? I am 26 and married with two kids. I'd like to meet new people, especially other parents and blended family members, to talk to, but all I ever get are pervs. I don't want to get picked up, but I would like to make some new friends and have people to talk to. (I'm home on maternity leave right now and bored out of my skull.) I'm new to this and I think it's amazing how you can "meet" people from all over that you never would have talked to otherwise. Can't this be used for something besides sex?

Cb, I need to be frank with you that people don't think or reason the same way. Otherwise we human beings won't be referred to as rational beings. Whenever you post a question such as being bored different people read different interpretations to it, it's not their fault at all. The ball is now in your court to choose the right guys that's saying what you have in mind as your friend. Yes, it can. One of my best friends of 8 yrs (and godmother to my youngest child) and I met in a chatroom online. I think it was one for moms with small kids. Turned out she lives only 70 miles from me, and we became travelling buddies. She comes over to our house, we go to hers...My husband likes her family, too.
It was really nice to be able to chat with her when I had the babies. It was a lifeline after talking baby talk all day! And now that the kids are older it's nice to meet her for shopping or lunch or whatever. Turned out we have a lot in common but wouldn't have met face to face any other way.

its hard to find friends on here 80 per. of them r pervs and they pretend not to b and seem friendly u gotta b careful...u should find freinds form ur town ppl that u know
