To all the men out there, I always thought you doubled over because it hurt your love apples, but my boyfriend tells me that the pain is actually intense in your kidneys. Is this right or is he having me on? (Please bear in mind if he is messing around on this I'll dump him). Thanks.

I don't know if there's anything in the kidneys affected, but it's not like he can see what part of his stomach is hurting. I heard on this health radio talk show several years ago that nerves from near the intestines slowly sag down over time and end up in or near the scrotum, or something like that. That makes the pain feel like it's in the stomach too. Not all kicks are the same either. Some are more injurious than others, depending on the angle, pressure, and what you happen to hit. Anyway, please don't do that to any man! Even a light tap from your hand can be painful, so imagine what a kick would do. Any trauma to the testes can cause reduced fertility or even sterility. And injuries to the penis are just as bad, if not worse (they can be fatal in some cases). If nothing else, consider how cruel it would be to do that. That much force is never justified unless maybe the guy is trying to kill you or something. PLEASE be very gentle! Have a nice day!

Either his kidneys are in an unusual place or he was kicked VERY hard.
My kidneys didn't hurt when I had a crash on a motorbike and crumpled the petrol tank between my legs, but I did walk like John Wayne for a fortnight.

It's a sort of "whole body" pain, and not very nice at all. Usual reaction to a serious boot in them is vomiting. And yes, the kidney area does hurt - no idea why. So don't dump him, or kick him to test the theory. ;)

Time to dump him. The pain is in the testicle area, not the kidneys. Further, if you would dump him over such a trivial matter, you would be giving the guy a break to be rid of you. You sound as though you act like a child!!

Chow!!

Well, it's both the nuts and your tummy to be honest, depending on where you're hit.

I once got hit square in the left gonad with a hockey ball at full pelt, and that only did hurt on the chappy himself, but it really did hurt oh-so-much for weeks. I had to go to the doctor to get it checked out it hurt so much!

So it really does depend upon the type and force of impact.

It is a deep, deep organ pain that is difficult to localize. Testicles, kidneys, intestines, etc are innervated from the same ganglion in front of the spine and refer a generalized pain that might hurt your boyfriend where he perceives his kidneys to be, and might hurt me in the love apples. Now if you stick a knife in his leg, the muskuloskeletal system is innervated differently and he should be able to localize that very well. Maybe try that on him.

the pain is defiantly in the gonads, I've never once felt kidney pain from a kick in the stones.

From my own experiences, it just feels like a huge blow to your stomach. I dont think I have had pain in my kidneys, but it definitely causes stomach pain.

He's not far off there, there is the 'contact pain' but it mainly comes from inside your body, it really is hard to explain.

The pain can be very intense, i could imagine someone fainting because of it.

You woman have it easy, child birth? Ha!

You haven't experienced anything like this.

It's a ripple effect of the pain, but what he is likely thinking is pain in the bladder, which is directly above and connected. Feeling pain in a location, not directly injured, but related it is not new. Remember, in males, sex, reproduction, and liquid waste disposal are all combined, whereas in a woman, they are separate. That is why it is proving so difficult to create a male birth control, because preventing one process also affects the other. A woman can lose her complete ability to reproduce and still be sexual, but males can't.
