I just upgraded my computer. It IS connected correctly. Both of my dvd drives work fine, even when i try to play a movie that is in dvd format ripped onto my hard drive it, which ever program i am using still crashes, such as powerdvd, windows media, etc. Im running an asus a8n32 mobo, evga 7900gs, lite on dvd-r and sony dvd. Its not a problem with my drives, could it be a video card issue?

Its actually all new hardware, but the HDD and DVD drives are from my old computer. All drivers are the most current available.

Hi there!
You probably got no or inappropriate CODEC for playing DVDs.Windows Media Player allows you to download the latest codec version for the player...the internet can be a great resource...visit windows media website or other sites as intervideo, etc

What OS? XP sp1 or sp2, Window 2000, Window Me or 98...
WHat is your HDD? IDE or Sata???
If IDE, what speed?

Suggest you provide more info, so that other may come up with suggestion to help you solve your problem....
