I am taking a combination of a cold and sinus medication. I notice that every time I take cold and sinus meds, it is more difficult for me to urinate. I end up with a very diminshed flow and so it takes forever to drain my bladder. What causes that?

Pseudoephedrine exacerbates a generally already enlarged prostrate. Welcome to aging.

The warning is right on the label. Do not take if you have trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate.

The other downside is that nearly ALL decongestant medication is pseudoephedrine. it just comes in different boxes and sizes and shapes.

It drys out your system. You are suppose to drink extra fluids when you have a cold or flu .. and with those medications, I would drink 8 glasses of water everyday. That is what they recommend for ALL people to drink in one day. Good Luck ! :)
