We're not, we just don't deny it as much. Well I can't say that straight men deny it because they do like they're bragging rights, but a time comes when they need to be respectable and they lie about it instead!

Firstly, not all are. In fact, many are not. There are effectively two gay communities, one surrounding the bars and easy sex; and one of couples and families. Want to see the "other" community? Go to a major (more than 100$ a ticket) AIDS charity event -- like a silent auction and dinner or whatever, or a gay political event. You get to see all the established couples then.

Even for the bar and easy sex crowd. The only reason that they are more promiscuous (those that are) is because they can be. My experience tells me that even most women who say they love sex, do not love it compared to an average, say nothing about a horny, male. There are two straight males that I know , one of them very close to me for many years, who have slept with (that they have kept track of) more than a thousand women each. I know the one extremely well, from his childhood -- and have met dozens upon dozens of the women he took home to sleep with over the years -- some of whose names he did not even know. I have NO question that he has indeed slept with over a thousand women (prior to age 30 in fact, please note -- he finally got serious about a girl at 31). On the other hand I don't think for a moment that he would say that on a questionnaire, I know him far too well. He was willing to tell me one day when I said "How many women HAVE you been with??? After meeting his latest conquest, but he doesn't tell most people and he definitely doesn't brag about it, it is simply reality.

There is a group in the gay community that do get a lot of sex and that wouldn't if they were straight. Those are men who are not as attractive as either of the two straight boys that I've mentioned above, and are not rich -- but are in the promiscuous subsection of the gay world. Then again, plain women who are willing have no problem getting up to a thousand sex partners either, I'm sure.

Don't fool yourself. That's the only group that wants a lot of promiscuous sex in the gay world that get's it that doesn't exist in the straight world as well.

It depends on the guy. Some guys I know have been monogamous for decades.

That being said, two factors lead gay men to play the field more so than straight men. We can't legally marry and therefore often are never guilty of adultery. Men are not as emotionally attached to sex as women.

On the other hand, straight men are not angels. How many straight men have mistresses and prostitutes on the side? How many men violate their marital vows and commit adultery? How many straight men go through multiple marriages? These poor examples of morality will often trade in their wives for a younger model time after time - yet their unions are given more respect than a union between a monogamous gay couple that has been together for decades. Something is wrong with that picture.

Not true! That's just the heterosexual means of trying to excuse their own wrong doings. Trying to make homosexuals look worse to hide their own promiscuous ways which are just as or even more prevelant....a man is a man...straight or gay...

Straight men would probably be more promiscuous if they could the problem lies in finding a partner to be with, so male male relationships are easier because you are not deling with the whole women thing, in sumation gay or st8 most men will be as promiscuous as they can be

This one's not that hard to figure out. Consider, most males (gay or str8) want to have sex. Consider also, that str8 males have to wine, dine, and date for awhile just for the chance of sex (at least that what my str8 buddies always whine about). Now, consider gay men are men looking for other men who think like MEN. That is to say, if I want to get laid, I unlike str8's, simply hook up with someone else who has the same sexual drive I do. Women are wired differently, they see sex and love as the same thing, most men I've met both gay and str8, don't have quite the same definitions. At this point I must say that I am in a committed relationship and being in love makes sex beyond simply a good lay.

There is no indication that they are more promiscuous. This is stereotyping by straight society. But don't be too hard on straights. After all, they didn't make a choice to be straight. They were born that way.

they're not, men are promiscuous! if straight men could walk up to women and say do ya wanna? they would , well gay men have no qualms because a guy wont freak or slap you or throw a drink they'll either say yes or no (usually yes) so its a question of males being bigger sluts than females period.

The answer lies not in the promiscuity but in the ability to find willing partners.

What makes you think they are? Men in general, when dating, will have sex whenever they can. Once they form a committed, exclusive relationship, they tend to stick with it.

Couples who have permissions that include three-ways, extra partners etc tend to stick with the rules.

Basically, both str8 and gay men who are free to have sex will do so when the opportunity presents itself.
