Zinedine Zidane scored for FRANCE in the 7th minute via a penalty after Florent Malouda was fouled in the box. Marco Materazzi equalise for ITALY in the 19th minute via his header from a corner kick.

ITALY won the 2006 FIFA World Cup, 5-3 on penalties after David Trezeguet of FRANCE missed his penalty kick & all the Italian have succesfully converted their 5 spot-kicks.
