Theirs a computer repair shop right down the road that is an honest respectable place to get things worked on. My aunt had a problem (among many) with her Dell, and got it fixed for $39, when Dell told her it would cost $400.

No. Do not waste your money on a computer from HP at Walmart. Neither of them will stand by thier crappy products. Call Dell, they can put you together a custom PC or Laptop exactly to your specifications and stay in any price range you specify. They will not try to sell you more than you need or ask for & they will stand by thier products 100%. The tech support is just invaluable to a new computer owner...you wont be sorry you called! 1-800-915-3355.

Only looks good and the specifications seem attractive, but Tech Support ain't good. I have had to deal with HP/Compaq's Tech Support on several occassions and it is not an experience to be desired.

If you are looking for a great deal, excellent Tech. Support and Customer Service, I suggest u buy a DELL.

If that is the case then consider looking into Dell Dimension 5150. It doesn't have DL DVD writter and the harddrive capacity is smaller but you can buy a 300 Gig HD and DL DVD writter from Best Buy or CompUSA for less than $100.

Yes and no. I like it because of the processor and the OS, but because it has Media Center XP, I don't see why it doesn't come with a TV Tuner so you can watch and record tv. I mean for what you say you are using it for, its good, but it isn't the best deal out there.

It a good price for what you say you need it for. If you get into heavy into graphics or gaming the shared video memory may cause headaches down the road.

I don't mean to sound like I'm slamming HP. In fact, HP makes a wonderful printer...notice I said printer....

And do you really want to deal with Wal-Mart if you do happen to have problems with the computer?
