They come to our country and use our system to raise their ten kids.They dont want to work.They say US is the land of oppurtunity thats why we come here to give their children a better life,YEAH thats right But not off of my tax dollars GET A JOB

For some it might be tough to get a job. Especially if they do not speak english when the come over. Plus some places have very little jobs to begin with. There are just as many Americans that are lazy and don't want to get a job as there might be immigrants.

You're obviously coming from a place I've no experience with. The immigrants I've seen on the Mississippi Gulf Coast (mostly Asian, Vietnamese) are extremely hard working and conscientious. They tip at restaurants, they take their shoes off so they won't muddy your floor, they pay their bills on time, their children quickly become valedictorians of the schools and win all the art competitions, they are mannerly and polite. And yes people resent them, because they take away business from the local shrimpers. But isn't that what America is all about? In ONE generation, they have assimilated themselves into our culture and I admire them for it. And I've not seen them asking for handouts either. I suppose though that if I lived where you do, wherever that is, I would have a different take on this and would be able to see if from your eyes. I just wanted you to see it from mine

Most immigrants are NOT on welfare, actually. Illegal immigrants can't access most welfare, and legal immigrants have to have a job and stable home before they can get their green cards.
In 1996, immigrants represented 15 percent of all welfare recipients in the US. By 1999, that number dropped to 12 percent. It continues to drop. (Fix and Passel 2002, US Department of Health and Human Services).
The most welfare money given out by the government is given to corporations.

Well is this really the case?
In the UK immigrants pay more in taxes then is spent on welfare. Also some asylum seakers are on benefits because government legislation prevents them from having legal employment.

YOUR RIGHT, a lot are on welfare, when i used to work at a grocery store, most of the people on WIC were mexicans, and then they would whip out a wad of hundred dollar bills to buy beer and cigarettes!?!?! i thought it was so messed up! i've known some that have gotten kicked out of there apartments because there were too many of them and they RUINED the place, a lot of hospitals close because they go and get treated and don't pay the bill, its very sad,

Few illegal immigrants but mostly log term Americans for several generations. Some families have made it their family business. AFDC, Food Stamps, SSI, Hud Housing, Salvation Army food banks, St, Vincent Depaul, Catholic charities. Free education Milk money, free private education. Reduced transportation Total medical care, free dental care, eyeglasses bus passes, church clothing closets etc. Its all free!!!!!

Same reason why there are Americans on the roles- they just need a little boost to help get them started. i for one would rather that NO ONE got it- but since i am not the judge nor the jury- i keep my opinions to myself.

It's a freaking scandal. No welfare or abuse of any of our systems for any illegals. I agree they should get a job, but please in their own countryes only.
If they want to come here let them apply for it as any legal immigrant should. The US should decide who is allowed in here, not the immigrants.
