Now this depends on what category you are speaking of. If it is discovery, health or whatever. I believe reaching the moon and all of the research they have done in space is pretty remarkable considering that I do not think man ever thought this was possible. As well, healthwise they have curred and relieved many diseases, small pox or the plague that killed so many no longer exists, the medicines and technologies they have developed today is life saving and preserving, whereas years ago many people just died. AND lastly, for all the people in the world that help other people - that is probably the greatest achievement that man can ever make - the love and kindness of man cannot be measured.

Wow. Hard question, but I had to bite. I think man's greatest achievment would be "civilization", and by that I mean the textbook meaning of civilization. Every great accomplishment that has ever been achieved has happened due to some degree of cooperation and compromise between two or more people, a "civil" way of life, if you will. Without civility, nothing would ever get accomplished, and whether we realize it or not, we CHOOSE to behave in a civil manner everyday. Otherwise, there would be chaos all the time in every aspect of our lives. I don't think you can point to one thing and say, "That's the greatest thing man ever came up with." The fact that most of the world chooses to live in peace with the world around them is a testament to the importance of civility.
