All the time.

Not just at certain times,
but since I am alone* all
day I feel like I have an
"open line" with no 'hello'
and 'goodbye.'

I don't do all the talking
like most prayers consist
of - I do a lot of listening, too.

*I am with my mom -who
has Alzheimer's.

I pray every day. I'm not much for long flowery prayers but there are so many opportunities during the day to thank God for the gift of life, a kind word from a friend, a hug from a grandchild, the rain we've so badly needed; a cooler day after a long HOT summer; a beautiful sky. And when things are going very wrong all at once, I can yell "help me Lord" while I'm on the run. And at the first sign of temptation I whisper the name of Jesus and Satan trembles. That makes me feel so safe!

Prayer is beautiful and good, and you can pray anywhere, anytime in your heart to God.

In response to URIAH'S answer above: "If you go to church, and pray, and someone thinks you're crazy".....
URIAH, that is judgmental. People are supposed to pray in church. That is the House of God.

Now, if you pray on a subway out loud, that is a bit rude, and hypocritical, but you know what, anybody has a freedom of speech, faith, as long no harm is done.

True Story: I was in downtown one day and it was busy and hectic. There was this man screaming and preaching to everyone that God is coming from a corner. Everyone heard, or ran past him, as not to be offended by his loudness. He got his point across, but I believe it would have been better if he did it in a pleasant tone of voice. Who am I to judge. I never forgot the guy, and the moment, so it was effective.

I used to believe that Everyone did. Its sad that they don't. Then there are people who think that if they play stupid, Like "I didn't know that God was trying to reach me." Well you cant just live blindly to God, it just doesn't work that way. A lot of the 9/11 survivor's and their families are saying well I just cannot see how God could do such a thing. Well honestly WE built the PLANES, and the Buildings. How can you blame God for not stopping it? How do you know that there hasn't been 20,000 other attempts that he has stopped, that would have been 10X worse?????

To answer your question yes, yes I pray, not just for me but for everyone. Especially.....Especially for the Athiests, the non believers, and those who question their faith at the first sight of Loss.

On Bended Knees

On bended knees, I offer up a prayer
to the heavens above, God receives it there
I thank God for waking me
allowing me to see another day
for watching over my loved ones
and keeping them safe in every way
I pray for the poverty stricken
no matter what their needs may be
I give thanks for guidance
and for giving me insight to see
I pray for faith,
the evidence of thing not seen
and whatever else he places on my heart
I pray for in between
My prayers are answered
according to his will, never mine
but when they are addressed
it's always on time

Not any more, I prayed for a loved one who then died, so now I don't see the point.

We look at people sitting in a church praying and say "he's talking to God". We see a man standing on a street corner talking to himself and we say "he's crazy". So I don't pray because if the wrong people look they may say your crazy and nobody wants to be told they're crazy.
