The Hitcher with Rutger Hauer and C. Thomas Howell.
Not too much gore, but the suspense was unreal.

There are not a lot of scary movies anymore. They are strickly shocking right now with the loud noise as something jumps towards the screen. I love horror films but they don't scare me much. But there are some exceptions to that rule.....

First one is Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the recent one) only because I thought that it was really based on a true story. The original one was scary only with the scene where he is chasing the girl with the chainsaw and she gets rescued and he has that fit where he twirls around in a circle.

The second one is The Shining because cabin fever does exist. As a psychology major, I have experienced people just flipping out without notice. It is scary! And to see him lose his mind was terrifying!

The last one is Killer Klowns From Outer Space. To this day, I am terrified of clowns. The clowns at haunted houses have a field day with me because I will actually break down and cry. I hate to see clowns at parties...I have to keep my eye on them in fear the entire time just to make sure they don't sneak up on me.

I've seen a lot of scary movies, but I still think the original black and white version of Quatermass and the Pit is by far the scariest. It's years ahead of its time.

The original Halloween, as far as horror films go.

But Deep Blue Sea really got to me too. Not a horror film, but scared the hell out of me. The original Jaws is another one. To this day I don't go into the ocean.
