Get an anti-static bracelet at a computer store. Otherwise, always make sure to touch an unpainted metal sorface on the case, preferably the back of the case, before putting your hands inside. Do it often.

You don't need a static band. Plant your feet on the floor and don't move them. Then touch a screw of a wall outlet or the metal case of a live power supply to ground yourself. Then work on the computer withouth worrying about static!
