I agree with plastibell method. My son was circumsized with the same method and there was no problems with diaper changes, bathing etc. The ring fell off on its own after 4 days and it healed perfectly with no infections. It didnt even seen to irritate or hurt him.

Wait about 5 days. Keep an eye on the circumsized site to watch out for infection. If it looks red or if it's oozing then call your doctor....

I was told not to give him a full bath until after it was healed. A sponge bath was ok though just not in that area. In fact when a baby is first born you really only have to give them sponge baths and not everyday due to their sensitive skin.

I was also told to put vaseline in the front of his diaper that way his penis would not stick to the diaper.

Good luck!

My son had the plastibell method. I was able to bathe him immediately. I would recommend this method because it is a simple procedure and very easy to take care of after wards. I could bathe and diaper him just like normal.

I was just told not to give a real bath until the umbilical cord stub fell off.

I still washed my son after his...actually all 3 of my sons! It helps to keep the penis clean and avoid possible infection. Just be REALLY gentle and he'll be fine..
