No. There isn't even any good proof for evolution on any large scale.

In this particular case, theory does mean "half-assed idea". Unfortunately, lots of dollars are being wasted on this 19th C pseudo-science.

To answer your question literally--no. But nobody has *tried* to prove that, because that wasn't the hypothesis in the first place. Evolution says that humans and monkeys (and apes) diverged from a common ancestor in the distant past, one that has become extinct by now.

To answer what I *think* you're trying to say, which is: is there evidence for evolution from this distant ancester of modern primates? The answer is yes. There are many transitional fossil forms, for example:

-Early primates -- paromomyids, carpolestids, plesiadapids. Lemur-like clawed primates with generalized nails.
-Notharctus, an early Eocene lemur
-Parapithecus, a small Old World monkey (Oligocene)
-Propliopithecus, a small primate intermediate between Parapithecus and the more recent O.W. monkeys. Has several ape-like characters.
-Aegyptopithecus, an early ape.
-Limnopithecus, a later ape showing similarities to the modern gibbons.
-Dryopithecus, a later ape showing similarities to the non-gibbon apes.
-Ramapithecus, a dryopithecine-like ape showing similarities to the hominids but now thought to be an orang ancestor.
-Australopithecus spp., early hominids. Bipedal.
-Homo habilis.
-Homo erectus. Numerous fossils across the Old World.
-Homo sapiens sapiens.
-Homo sapiens neanderthalensis

There is also collaborating evidence from genetics, mathematics, geology, chemistry, physics, etc.

Man and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor - a slightly different thing to yr question

No, because science doesnt say that. Creationists claim that's what science says, not science. It's a creationist lie.

Science claims man and apes share a common ancestor. Just like your and your cousins share a common ancestor.

p.s. You should also know that "theory" in science does not mean "any halfassed notion". It means there are mountains of evidence to support it. Creationism is an hypothesis, not a theory, because there is no supporting evidence.

The human genome is 98% identicle to that of apes. Even if we didn't originate FROM the apes, we're extremely closley related to them.

Do you ever go to the zoo? Watch the Apes or chimps....they have MANY manurisms that are identifiable with many humans. It's just no denying, unless one has his head in the sand, so to speak.

I don"t think so,but if we did is"nt it funny that we did evolve from them yet we all sometime or the other try to make a monkey out of ourself"s lol

A man? Who are you talking about? Give their name it will help us decide whether he came from monkey or not?

No, although scientists are still studying George Bush very closely and feel there is some correlation.
