well i think it just reflects what the market wants. they do whatever they do to appeal to the market and increase their sales.
They might have also made the change in oreder to make it different ... is it possible they ran out of ideas and were afraid that if they did not make the culture change it would loook to similar to the previous one??
i doubt that the makers of the game are favouring one culutre to the other. this is business hterefore a money making thing.

Haha they will put some 70's punk into it
Makers of gta have to keep in mind that not everyone is into the rap thing. rap was not th eonly thing around at that times. And i sereiosly doubt if the mafia or the yakuza give a s**t bout the music scene theyre more bothered with security and police raids

I think it's awesome!!!! You have all heard of the gangs and violence that was going on in the 90's, and now you get to actually see it. You get to see pretty much everything that rappers rapped about and what they went through. I think it's great. I really do love the mafia setting from GTA 3, but I think this one takes the cake. I just hope they can keep the streak alive and I would also like to see a GTA set in the 70's as well.

Made sense. After 3 they went with what was the popular culture of the time the game was set. Early 90's had rap and such as the popular scene. That was what was selling. In the 80's the popular thing was mIami vice, you know Vice City.

What do you mean? Vice City was miles away from GTA3 in terms of the setting and culture. SA continued the trend.

I hope they keep it up with new titles in the series. Hopefully we'll see a game set in the 70s.
