i think that's an excellent idea!
there is definetly more pressure/stress when playing away games.
i watch my local team play, porthmadog fc and one of our players has to travel 2 hours just to get to home games and then up to 4 hours down to south wales!! it's bound to make a difference espically too little clubs who can't afford to stay in hotels the night before.

Yes, then go back in a time machine to the 1994/5 season. That way United would have won the premiership instead of Blackburn

Let me tell you what I think, I think it,s time for people to stop messing with the beautiful game. Points for this points for that, They,ll be dishing points out for the best pies before long, as for points for score draws, how ridiculous can it get, you would never see a nil each draw again and even if, in the main they are boring, rather that, than a 1-1 dishonest result, please! not broken? don,t fix.
Leave Sepp Blatter to messing the game up he,s doing a good job of it without all and sundry jumping on the band wagon, thanks to him nobody understands the offside rule any more including the match officialls from what I see week in and week out.

I can see the philosophy. It used to be one point for a draw and two points for a win and changed to three points for a win to encourage teams to go for the win. It now being better to win one game than draw two.
Two points for a home win though not sure about this by that ethos the away team should gain more points for a draw.
You could see this becoming very complicated very quickly.

Sounds like a good idea in theory. But sadly i dont think it'd work. Too many people would make excuses about one team trying harder or losin a game on purpose to aide another team.
Plus can you imagine explaing that and the offside rule to a female? No chance...lol... Only kidding ladies.

no i don't think that home and away should have anything to do with the points. it seriously sounds like a cheap and easy way to get points. "it's a good thing we won at old trafford or else we would've been tied!" wouldn't you just love it a team barely won just because they played away? No, I would definitely not. they could play just as good home as away, playing their hardest to beat the best, and they would still only get 2 points and then, oh no, look they're tied for the title. it would just be silly to do it that way and absolutely pointless as well.

How about a point for every goal you score? Would put an end to stalemate 0-0s.

that will make the points calculation even more complicated, but for now the 3 points for a win would suit nicely at the moment.

I would prefer bonus points
i.e a bonus point for scoring 4 or more goals
a bonus point if you lose by 1 goal & you have scored e.g. lose 2-1
